Who we are

Home care shaped around daily life

Great Homecare Services has supported families in their own homes across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area since 2023.

We provide compassionate, reliable, and culturally-sensitive homecare focused on comfort, safety, and dignity.

Our caregivers help with the parts of the day that have become more challenging to manage alone — washing and dressing, preparing meals, keeping the home tidy and safe to move around in, and steady company through the afternoon. This is non-medical care, and anything medical falls outside what we offer.

We work to each person’s own routines rather than a fixed schedule. That means asking how someone likes their morning to go, and then keeping it that way. Those small things are usually what lets a person stay independent and comfortable in a home they know well.

How we work

How we work, day to day

Small things, mostly. They are what decides whether care in someone’s own home feels like help or like an intrusion.

We ask first, and then we keep to it

The first conversation is mostly listening — how someone likes to be helped, and what they would rather still do themselves. Once we know, we keep it that way.

The day comes first, not the schedule

The walk after breakfast, the call with a daughter on Sundays, the nap that has always been at two. We arrange ourselves around those rather than ask someone to move them.

We are clear about what we do not do

This is non-medical care, and anything medical falls outside what we offer. Said early, that is far more useful to a family than a vague yes.

Needs change, and so does the arrangement

What someone needs in March is not what they need by September. We stay in touch, and adjust hours or tasks before an arrangement stops fitting.

Our standards

How we choose our caregivers

Deciding who to let into your home is one of the most challenging parts of arranging care. Every caregiver completes the same checks before they meet a client.

  • Caregivers are fully insured and bonded
  • Mandatory police background checks
  • Vulnerable sector screening
  • Reference verification
  • Strict hiring and screening standards

  4. Step 4 of 4

    Begin care at home

The first visits follow the routine that already works. We check in as care settles, and adjust the support as needs change.
